How I Make a Living as a Minimalist without a 9 to 5 Job

Introduction

Are you tired of the 9 to 5 grind? Do you dream of living a more minimalist lifestyle, with less stuff and more freedom? If so, you're not alone. Millions of people around the world are embracing minimalism, and many are finding ways to make a living without working a traditional job.

In this comprehensive guide, I'll share my personal story of how I transitioned to a minimalist lifestyle and started making a living without a 9 to 5 job. I'll also provide practical tips and advice for anyone who's interested in doing the same.

Many people dream of living a minimalist lifestyle, free from the constraints of a traditional job. But how is it possible to make a living without working a 9 to 5?

I'm here to tell you that it is possible! I've been living a minimalist lifestyle for several years now, and I've been able to make a living through a variety of means, including blogging.

Here are a few ways that you can make money as a minimalist blogger:

  • Sell things on your blog. Even if you're not making a lot of money, you can still sell things on your blog. You could sell your own products, such as e-books or online courses. You could also sell affiliate products, which are products that other companies sell. When someone buys an affiliate product through your link, you earn a commission.

  • Use blog ads. Blog ads are a great way to earn income, especially if you have a large audience. You can sell ad space on your blog to other businesses.

  • Write sponsored posts. Sponsored posts are posts that you write about a specific product or service in exchange for payment from the company.

  • Offer consulting or coaching services. If you have expertise in a particular area, such as minimalism or personal finance, you can offer consulting or coaching services to others.

  • Create and sell digital products. Digital products are products that can be downloaded, such as e-books, online courses, and printables.

It's important to note that it takes time and effort to build a successful blog. You won't start making money overnight. But if you're willing to put in the work, you can eventually create a blog that generates a significant income.

Here are a few tips for building a successful minimalist blog:

  • Choose a niche. What are you passionate about? What do you know a lot about? Choose a niche for your blog that you can write about with authority and enthusiasm.

  • Write high-quality content. Your blog posts should be well-written, informative, and engaging. Make sure to proofread your posts carefully before publishing them.

  • Promote your blog. Share your blog posts on social media and other websites. You can also reach out to other bloggers in your niche and ask them to share your content.

  • Be patient. It takes time to build a successful blog. Don't get discouraged if you don't start making money right away. Just keep writing great content and promoting your blog, and eventually you will see results.

My personal experience

I make a little money off of my blog, but my main income source is another job. I'm working towards eventually being able to make a full-time income from my blog, but I'm not there yet.

I use a variety of monetization methods on my blog, including blog ads, affiliate marketing, and sponsored posts. I'm also starting to create and sell digital products, such as e-books and online courses.

I'm still learning and growing as a blogger, but I'm excited to see what the future holds. I believe that it is possible to make a living as a minimalist blogger, and I'm committed to making it happen.

If you're interested in starting a minimalist blog, I encourage you to go for it! It's a great way to share your passion with the world and potentially make a living from doing what you love.

Those who buy the products I recommend get a small commission at no cost to them.

If you're interested in earning some extra money from the products I recommend, here's what you can do:

  • Recommend products to your friends and family that are worth buying. You'll earn a small commission at no cost to them (and me), but only if they buy them through my link.

  • Recommend services or books that are useful and relevant to the people around you. We'll split the revenue with each other again for those sales as well!

  • Recommend movies/music/apps that fit into your lifestyle without being too expensive or difficult for most people (or both). I will only get paid when someone buys something through my link because I don't want people spending their hard-earned money on something they're not sure about just because it looks cool."

You can make money on affiliate marketing with blog advertising as well.

Affiliate marketing is a way of earning money by promoting products and services without actually selling them yourself. You don't have to sell anything, but you will get paid using your link or banner ad when someone buys something. In other words, it's like an advertisement that links back to the seller's site (or blog).

You can use affiliate links to promote products or services that interest you. Still, there are some guidelines: If a company doesn't pay its affiliates anything extra for those links (such as $1 per click), then they're considered "passive" income options—not ideal if your goal is passive income!

Save money using affiliate links that lead to purchases you might otherwise make, like Amazon.com or eBay.

Affiliate links are a great way to make money in affiliate programs. If you use one of my affiliate links, I'll get paid a small amount of money when you make a purchase from Amazon.com or through eBay (but not from sales made directly by me). It's up to me whether or not I choose to promote products that don't align with my personal beliefs and values. Still, it's important for me to refrain from doing so if there's any chance that someone might buy something based on misinformation about what I believe.

It's always possible to get started with blogging and making money online.

You may be thinking that it's too late to start a blog, but I can tell you that it's never too early. If you want to make money online as a minimalist and live off of your passions, then there are several things that you need to do before the right time comes:

  • Get started with blogging and making money online.

  • Start building an audience for your blog so that more people will see what you write about.

  • Create content that is unique from other blogs out there in order of quality over quantity (more on this later).

Receive Passive Income

Passive income is the term for income that does not require you to work for it. That's right—passive income can be earned in a variety of ways, from selling products on your website or through affiliate marketing to writing books and articles.

Here are some examples of ways you can earn passive income:

  • Affiliate Marketing - You buy an item from someone else's product, then get paid when they sell their product through your link (or vice versa).

  • Sales Commissions - If someone buys something from your store using one of your links, then you make money off that sale by getting a commission. This often happens when people shop at Amazon because they use affiliate programs like JVZoo or Clickbank.* Books/Articles/Blogs - You write content and post it online so people will see it; if enough people read it and comment on how useful it was, those comments will eventually lead to more sales!

Launch a blog or website.

If you want to make money online, start a blog or website. This is the most basic way to make money as a minimalist because it's easier than anything else I've listed here (even though it still takes work).

You can create your own site with WordPress or another CMS like Squarespace or Wix and then monetize through Adsense, Amazon Associates, and other affiliate programs. The process is super simple: just write about whatever interests you and post content on your site regularly—ideally once per day—and before long, people will come looking for more of what they've read!

Create online courses.

You may be wondering how to make money as a minimalist without a 9 to 5 job. But one thing can help: creating online courses on topics you are passionate about. If you have a knack for teaching and aren't afraid of sharing your knowledge with others, then this might be the perfect path for you!

In this post, we'll take an in-depth look at what exactly makes an online course successful and how it can help people like us make money from our hobbies or passions.

Write books and articles.

You can also write books and articles. This is the most common way I make money as a minimalist, but there are other options.

If you have a blog or if you're interested in writing about your experiences, this is a good place to start. You'll learn how to write engaging content people want to read (and keep returning for).

Podcasts, videos, or audio downloads

You can make money from your podcasts, videos, and audio downloads in a number of ways. The best way is to monetize your podcast by selling advertising space on it. This means advertisers will pay you a portion of the revenue they pay for commercials.

To start getting started with this, you'll need an internet connection and audio editing software such as Audacity or GarageBand (Mac). You also need some knowledge about how things work at Apple iTunes Connect so that they know what kinds of content they're selling and where it's being sold.

Pitch to magazines, publishers, or media outlets

  • Be clear about what you want to say, and be honest.

  • Be confident in your answers, but not too cocky if it's an over-the-top question like "How do you balance work and life?"

  • Prepare for the interview by reading up on the publication/magazine and its conventions (e.g., format).

  • Prepare yourself mentally by thinking of possible questions they might ask (e.g., "What do we need more of? What can we do better? How can our readers get involved with this issue?)

Network with others who share your interests (see below)

Network with other people who share your interests. This is a great way to get started on minimalism and live your dream life. You can find these people online or by asking around in your local community. Some of the most successful bloggers are also very active on social media, so be sure to follow them to keep up-to-date with what's happening!

Sell products on Amazon or Etsy.

If you have a small business, selling on Amazon or Etsy can be a great way to make money. Both sites are popular with customers, and they're easy to use. You can sell handmade items like jewelry or clothing right on their websites.

Amazon has a large user base because it's such an established company that most people know what they're looking for when they go online shopping (at least in the United States). You'll also benefit from its popularity because so many people want to buy products like yours!

Etsy is another popular platform where sellers can sell handmade items by handcrafted artists throughout the world—including yourself! The site allows you access directly into its database of potential buyers, which means it has more than enough potential clients browsing through the site every day looking to purchase something new from someone else who wants them too, just like everyone else does too :)

There are multiple ways to make money without a 9 to 5 job.

There are multiple ways to make money without a 9 to 5 job. Here's how I do it:

  • You can make money online by selling products on Amazon or Etsy. Suppose you want to become an affiliate marketer. In that case, this is the best way for beginners because it requires less work than other methods of making money online. Affiliate marketing allows you to earn commissions (referral fees) when someone buys a recommended product through your link or ad network after clicking on it from one of my websites.

  • Blogging is also another great way for beginners who don't have any experience with blogging platforms like WordPress or Blogger because they don't have much technical knowledge about web hosting and server maintenance etc., so they can easily use Google Chrome browser instead of Firefox, which might cause some problems while using certain features such as AdSense ads management toolkit extension plugin setup procedure; otherwise if necessary we can always hire someone else if required!

Conclusion

Start by joining a few groups. Check out Meetup.com or Facebook groups to see what's available in your area. Look for groups related to your career, geographical location, hobbies, or other interests.

When you join a group, stay until the group is no longer active and then look for another group with similar goals. The key is to make friends with people with the same goals as you and get involved in activities similar to those of others in the group.

You don't have to be an expert at all of them, but show a willingness to learn and ask questions along the way. You can also offer information that will benefit others if they do it, such as where they can find free classes or locations where they can get free samples of things they want to buy.

If you're having trouble getting involved right away, staying long enough before leaving is usually all it takes--people will come around when they see how committed you are and how helpful you are along the way. Don't give up! It takes time before most people feel comfortable with someone else who isn't already "in"--it's called being new or an outsider. Be patient!
